Love Those Vintage Easter Cards!
One wonders how "they" ever came up with all "those" great illustration ideas back in the early days of producing Easter and other holiday cards! It seems that one is prettier than the last. I love all the rabbit designs one sees at this time of year. And these cute little chicks are certainly making me smile! How about you?

I is for Industrial Insurance!
From the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Collection, this vintage trade-card is all about INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE! The trade-card craze lasted from about 1870 until the turn of the century, when interest in trade-card collecting faded and new advertising outlets, particularly the popular press, grew in importance. Today, however, many of us vintage collectors delight in finding any and all vintage postcards and trade-cards! These are our treasures!

Vintage Campbell's Soup Ad for Ruby Tuesday!
Campbell Kids were first used as part of an advertisement for the Campbell Soup Company in 1906. The kids were created by Grace Drayton, a popular illustrator of the day. The kids were used in magazine and newspaper ads until about 1951. They were presented again in 1966; and in 1983, they were redesigned with a slimmer, more contemporary appearance (Kovels.com).

A Green Idea for Ruby Red Tuesday!
My! What a pretty red comb you have!
The above pictures are taken from a vintage book that was still very pretty but not repairable. So I cut out the beautiful animals panels (there are more than shown which I'll share on another day), glued pretty scrapbook papers to their backs, and made them into cards for my toddler grandchildren Logan 4 and Paige 2. I hoped they would have fun with this game and they love it!

Rabbits and Lambs! Oh My!
Here's a postcard from my collection that I just love! What is it about rabbits and lambs that is so irresistible! I simply cannot pass by an antique booth that has one of these beautiful animals on a pretty picture postcard or vintage book! The colors and spoken or unspoken sentiments of these antique illustrations are just wonderful!
Enjoy your day everyone! Happy Sunday!

For the Love of Vintage Books!
Remember music hour in grade school? I used to look forward to that every week! We often went into a special room for singing, opened our books, and Mrs. Mason took out her pitch pipe! Then we were off and sailing...off to other worlds of adventure! There's just nothing like music to soothe the soul!

Uncle Wiggily comes to Ruby Tuesday!
Here's another of my favorite rabbit storybooks! Uncle Wiggily could get into all sorts of adventures. In this book, it starts with a trip to the dentist. But there's more fun here than just a toothache for the wild rabbit and his friends! With thirty-six chapters in all, anything could happen! What fun!!! A charming antique children's book by Howard R. Garis!
This is just one of the vintage books I am offering for sale in my Vintage Cottage Home Etsy Shop...you can see all of them HERE! Please come and take a look around and I'd love it if you would HEART MY SHOP! Thanks so much!
