A Work in Progress!

We are now two weeks into our new home and here's a look at the computer, writing, reading. crafting room where all creativity is enjoyed. It's still a work in progress but it's coming along nicely. I finally have room for my antique bookcase and my favorite vintage book collections: Baum's OZ books, Laura Lee Hope's Bobbsey Twins, Gene Stratton Porter's and Louisa May Alcott's novels. It's such fun to be surrounded by all those great authors and their long ago stories!

There are lovely corner windows from which I can view the outside world while writing. From my desk chair I can see a serene forest of trees that spreads all the way from my back yard to the Cascades Falls park, just a few block away! Cardinals, blue jays, rabbits and squirrels decorate the scene. Heavenly!

O Is For Oh So Happy!

(I missed N last week because I had NO computer!)

And now O is for OH how happy we are to have our computer, TV, and phone service connected in our new home! Not having the "essentials" of daily life for a whole week is a bit too much like camping for me!

We're still unpacking boxes (MANY) but we are loving our new vintage cottage (ranch) home! Here's a picture of some of our progress so far!

"Let Your Dreams Be Your Doctor!"

Arlene Shovald, author of a new book!

An awesome book by former Iron County friend, Arlene Shovald, Ph.D, is coming out soon! Arlene's book, "Let Your Dreams Be Your Doctor" will be released approximately August 15 by Balboa Press, a division of Hay House.

"Let Your Dreams Be Your Doctor" is a "reader friendly" version of Arlene's doctoral dissertation on using dreams to diagnose and treat physical and emotional problems. Revealing her own healing experiences with dreams as well as the experiences of fourteen other individuals who contributed to her study on using dreams to work with emotional and physical problems, she provides direction for the novice who has just begin to pay attention to those mysterious messages we get during the night, as well as new information for the person who has studied his or her dreams for years. In particular, case studies make the reading interesting and enjoyable.

Arlene Shovald who has a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology is a former editor of The Iron County Reporter and now lives in Salida, Colorado where she is a freelance writer and owner of Fresh Start Therapies, LLC, a private practice in clinical hypnotherapy, past life regression therapy and dream analysis.

"Let Your Dreams Be Your Doctor" is available online at barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com or, for a signed copy, send a check for $11.95 plus $3 postage to Arlene Shovald at 1124 D St., Salida, Co 81201.

She would love to hear from you!

(I haven't received my copy yet but I can't wait! Not only is Arlene a personal friend and a fabulous writer but...who doesn't want to know more about interpreting their dreams, especially when it comes to our well-being! Order your copies today!)

M is for Merry!

(From the book entitled "A Victorian Scrapbook")

M is for MERRY and also for MOVING! You may have noticed that I haven't been posting as often these past few weeks as before and it's because we've been in the MIDDLE of a huge MOVE to a new home in a new city! It's been a bit wild and crazy (uh, MERRY, as seen in the picture) but we'll soon be back to normal and I'll be posting regularly again!
