What Color Are Your Wishes?

Visions of sugar plums are beginning to dance in our heads with good Old Saint Nicholas on his way soon to our homes and the hearts of children everywhere. Surely he'll be bringing some vintage treasures along with him in that great big exciting bag of toys...toys for children of all ages, I should add!
It's wishing time for all as our heads fill with memories of Christmas joys past. It might be those lovely Christmas Carols heard overhead from a choir of friendly angels. Or perhaps we are remembering the joys of turning the pages of the Alden catalog and seeing that special pair of ice skates or a cowgirl outfit all trimmed in red! Then again, it could be wishing a loved one was coming home soon for a Christmas visit.

The season is sprinkled with wishes of many kinds and colors! What color are your wishes?

I'm participating in RUBY TUESDAY today which is hosted by WORK OF THE POET! To see more RUBY participants click HERE!

  1. The colour, (Canadian spelling,) of my wishes would be all red and pinks... the colours of our love and affection. What I think of when I think of Christmas are all the snapshot memories of my family at our table, passing food and smart Alec quips all at the same time!

  6. I love this man, In Europe he came on Dec 6th. Here in USA on the 25th. I look forward to him each season. I even visit him in the summer, Just to check in. My Granny and Mom used to work with him for years. I sure miss those times. I'll have to post some of the photo of years gone by. Thanks for the post. Great memories for me. Have a Ruby of a Day.

  7. Good Morning Coralie...
I love the beautiful whimsical Christmas card you have shared this morning. Santa is always so thrilling to see, but the old cards made everything so whimsical, it was more fun. Whatever happened to that? And look at the precious toys in his pack. An elephant, a rabbit and a rocking horse and doll.

My colors for this year are reds and browns. I have a red tree in one room and tree covered in browns (all natural things)in another room. It seems as though each year a new thought comes to mind. Red will always be a favorite.

Thank you for sharing this morning sweetie. I love this Santa. He brought back such a beautiful memory of Christmas.

    Country hugs...Sherry

  11. Ah, simpler times! Or maybe I was just, as a child, ignorant of life's complexities. Nice to see the old cards and pictures at Christmas. I love all the reds - it's my favorite color!

  12. I love to see the old cards at this time of year. They do bring back memories of Christmas in less frenetic times.

  14. I love all of the colors of the fifties. I just feel at home in that era. Life was slower and simpler. The old Christmas ornaments fascinate me. My mom recently gave me several of her old, old ornaments, things that I will share with my two offspring. Your blog looks happy and festive. A great place to visit every day. Just wish my MIL's place would be finished so life could return to normal. I miss visiting the blog gang and seeing what everyone is up to! Maybe next week. In the mean time, keep posting, it's always fun to stop by. Hugs~

  15. Hi, I am new to your blog...I just love it! My Christmas colors are also mid century ....I was born in 1954 so I guess it would be the late 50's, early 60's......I love the vibrant colors of the children's items from back then....I still can remember how magical it felt! The items I love and decorate with are from that era.

  16. My dreams are in silver and white this Christmas.

I love the way the sun sparkles on snow and ice so I've tried to bring a little of that into my home this season.
