I'm Okay! And My Mom Isn't BLUE Anymore!

I don't know what all the fuss was about! Just because the vet told my mom that she had to feed me peroxide and cold water yesterday to try to make me throw up the pill I probably swallowed...and just because she had to do this twice and it didn't work!

And just because we had to rush to my vet's office on an emergency call on Sunday and drive 50 miles to get there. And just because the vet put something stinging in my eye to make me throw up the pill I probably swallowed (and it still didn't work).

And just because I had all this stuff in my stomach and the vet fed me a large tube of black carbon to absorb everything including the pill I probably swallowed...

I don't know why my mom was so scared and worried! Because I'm fine! Today, my vet said I'm fine! And I feel fine! And I think my mom feels fine now too. I'm pretty sure she no longer has the Monday BLUES! She's been hugging me even more than usual and acting happy and relieved!

Anyway...I don't know what all the fuss was about! Honestly, I don't!

  3. Hi Coralie, I had the same thing happen to one of my shepards....one of my cats got up on top of the counter and was playing with some of the stuff sitting there.....Well I forgot to put the meds bottle that were for one of my other dogs away and it fell on the floor....Jade got a hold of the bottle and ate the meds AND the bottle!!! So I had to induce the vomiting and most came up and the rest came out at a later time..... I'm so glad your pup is fine and my gosh is she beautiful!!! what a pretty face. Have a great day! Hugs, Jennifer

PS Coralie, they are worse than kids sometimes for worrying one to pieces.

  8. Glad to hear your mom can stop worrying. I bet your fur didn't gain a single gray strand through all this, did it? I hope your mom can say the same. ;-)

  11. You dear soul, what a scare! This is something that I fear each day as I pop daily pills in my mouth, with two corgi kidlets at my feet! So glad of the happy outcome.

  16. Bonnie Lass, have you been naughty? You shouldn't scare your Mom like that! DO NOT eat everything you find on the floor, little girl, and there will be no fuss! Now go give your Mom a big lick on her cheek!

  18. Oh Coralie! Scout and I have complete empathy for you and Sweet Bonnie! So glad she is feeling better! Please tell her to stick to her dog food! :-)
Those ER vet visits are expensive! (Scout's rawhide bone disaster cost me $557.00.)

  29. Oh Coralie....I'm so glad to hear your pup's doing well. It scared the heck out of you, didn't it? Did you know you can call poison control about your pets too? Years and years ago our little Westie/Mutt ate mouse killer....oh my goodness.......soooo scary. She lived at the vet's for a few days and thankfully was just fine. Pet owners aren't really pet owners after all, are they? I think they're part of the family and we worry so about them. :-)

    Hugs to you and Bonnie!

  31. whew.....what a day for you and your dog. It's amazing how much our animal companions mean to us, and how scary it is when we think something may be wrong with them.

I'm so glad everything turned out well in the end.

  32. It is so good that your sweet dog is all healthy and happy. What a scare.

Our oldest son ate one of my Dad's medications when he was about three. We didn't know what he got and he had to go to the hospital for observation and charcoal. I'll never forget that day!
