INDIGO!

Our assignment this week for Mrs. Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday's Rainbow Summer School, is to find and post something INDIGO! This little art print is from a 1940's pictorial scrapbook I recently discovered.

And there's old Ichabod Crane himself watching the headless horseman ride off into the scary INDIGO night!

Happy Rainbow Days!

  3. Wow, Ichabod Crane! That brings back memories from grade school! What a beautiful night sky!

Have you ever heard of an illustrator named Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966)? He used to paint amazing skies in oils.

Oh, what sweet dogs you have. So cute. They look very kind-hearted when they look at you through the camera lens.

    Take care,
    Anna

  4. There is no end to the beauty of the art in these old pages ... beautiful, sweet friend.

I'll get back on track shortly but we are still bogged down working on both houses for another week or so ... I apologize for my negligence in corresponding, Coralie.

    Have a beautiful holiday weekend.

  6. This is such a dramatic image. Often, I would go for a visit to Sunnyside, Washington Irving's home in Tarrytown, New York. It is a beautiful gabled stone mansion, nestled on river front grounds. Love his writings, and so much enjoyed learning about his interesting life.

  9. Hi Coralie, Love your indigo post picture. Very cute and it brings back some memories. What an unattractive Ichabod Crane. HA!

Do you have a new puppy? I was reading your comments. Puppies are a wonder. We love our little poodle so much.

I hope you are feeling back to normal.

    Hugs, Jeanne

  11. Nice print, Coralie! I've seen many drawings, etc, of Old Ichabod and the Headless Horseman, but never such a beautifully done print. Love the deep indigo hue! Thanks for posting it. ~John

And I can get on your blog just fine now to see your links...strange...

And this color of sky is exactly how I picture the color indigo in my mind!
