Hi Coralie, love this illustration! My best friend growing up had a collie and I remember him being exactly as you describe. She had this very old picture hanging in her bedroom of a Collie protecting a little lamb. I can still see it! If I didn't live in the deep South, I would probably have a Collie but I think they would be miserable down here, in fact, I rarely see them. Have a great day, Nan
Such a beautiful dog, collie's are so beautiful and sweet. I love how this little girl is holding the dogs paw, my daughter loves to get our dogs to shake her hand, they are getting very good at doing this!
Dogs are cute...especially collies...and the vintage image of the girl with a collie is adorable!!! Have a good day. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
Hi Coralee. This is such a sweet image. It reminds me of my childhood. Every summer, we would drive to a rural part of Connecticut to rent a cabin. The owners had a beautiful Sheltie named Queenie. I was in love with that dog. Gentle, caring, loyal, and brave, would be the way I would describe her. Not to mention, she was so darn cute. Having not had any dogs in our household, Queenie was like my adopted dog. It was love at first sight. Thanks for stiring up these beloved memories. Maureen
My husband grew up with a pet collie named Lady. She was so smart she would go upstairs and get things for them, much like the dog in the movies and on TV.
Sadly, she died while he was away at college. She was getting older, but she didn't die of old age. She was poisoned, and it made the loss even harder.
I hadn't known him for long when it happened, but I will never forget how much he loved her and how sad he was when she died so suddenly. She was a great and beautiful dog.
Ok, so I had to leave the room when Lassie was fighting the mountain lion. I didn't care one bit when Timmy fell down the well, but boy don't mess with my Lassie, it was just too emotional!
Collies are very beautiful...and I agree with a comment above. It was okay if Timmy was hurt...but nothing better have happened to Lassie. Have a great day!
I love collies too! Yesterday when I was out walking Scout, we met the sweetest Collie and those 2 instantly liked each other.
