Wouldn't you love to have witnessed this firsthand? I think NYC would have been so very interesting in that time period. Look at the 'Victrola' sign in the background! :)
wasn't that such a grand time....when everyone dressed like they cared, no walking around in PJ bottoms with your belly hanging out!!!! So dapper and put together!!! Hugs, Margaret B
Elegant indeed!! NYC is a very different place today, with people with ripped jeans, mini-skirts that barely cover, and cleavage up to the neck. I'll take the days from this photo any day!!
Ah, what a different time. People don't just promenade anymore - they tweet and text and email. But no promenading. Sad really. Oh and I wanted to comment on your liver casserole on your other site and it wouldn't let me - I am going to try making that, I have a bunch of liver from a grassfed cow and I can't wait to try it!
There sure are decked out - it must have been a cooler day. The dog is so cute and so are their expressions and poses. It makes you wonder what they were thinking and who or why the photo was taken.
I love old photographs like this. So many questions pop into my mind. What are their names? Where are they going? What's their story? Exceptional Post. :-)
I love the vintage photo you used! I love elegance. Sometime I just wish I had my youth, when my mother dressed us up to the nines and we wore smart coats with muffs and hats! Ah...memories Anne

ReplyDeleteI'm with Kelli, I think to be back in time in this era would have been so stimulating to me as a creative artist. I love this photo. Tammy

ReplyDeleteI love the word elegant. . .it is descriptive and we hardly every use it anymore, is that because we are hardly ever elegant anymore?
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, the couple are dressed so smartly walking their Scottie dog.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering what the piece of fur is the lady has over her arm.
Certainly very elegant.
My apologies for not stopping by so much lately, just so many things to do just now.
