My giveaway for the 2010 One World-One Heart Event is a well-loved copy of a children's Treasury of Literature schoolbook from my own personal vintage book collection entitled, Magic Carpet!
Magic Carpet is an enchanting children's book with 384 pages filled with vintage illustrations, poems, and stories such as The Cricket in Times Square, The Enchanted Rabbit, and Amazing Ships and Sailors! First printed in 1954 by Charles E. Merrill Books, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, this is a 1966 edition.

Oh, my, the book is priceless. My son is an English teacher in middle school and would love this.
ReplyDeleteWe found a book in my MIL's things that is a collection of games for kids to play at school. Keep in mind, this was from the 30's. One of the games was "Hit The Dummie". We were appalled, but it has become a catch phrase in the family.

I have loved the pictures in old books. As a child I used to look for all the little details. Like chicks in the barn or a rabbit behind a bush. Looks like a book to cherish.
