  1. For a moment I thought that was her hair at the left of the photo!!! Silly me, it's part of the chair.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could find out who she was? Is she a relative of yours?

  2. This young lady is not a relative. I discovered her photo at an antique shop and just felt drawn to it. I wonder if maybe she was a school teacher? With the watch on her lapel, it made me think of a school marm from long ago. Isn't she charming!

  3. Truly Coralie she is charming! Is that a key pendant she is wearing? I love the pointed tipped jacket. She's beautiful!

  4. Such a dreamy look. I also thought that was her hair... have you looked over it with a magnifying glass. Sometimes old photos have more to tell.

  5. I wonder the same thing each time I come across an old faded photograph; who is this? what were they thinking? what was this day like for them?

I am new to blogging and enjoyed reading through some of your posts this morning.

  6. it makes me sad to see old photos that have been abandoned...but it makes you wonder who they were...where they lived...what made their lives special...

  7. Yes, I thought the chair was part of her hair also. :-)

And I too, am sad to see old photos abandoned. -sigh- I'm glad you rescued this one.

  8. I thought the curling edges of the chair was her hair! Yes, she is charming--I wonder who she was? She has a bit of the fighter in her. A glint of tough in the eyes--but so sweet. She had dreams, places she wanted to go, things she wanted to do.

I wonder if she was one of the first women journalists! I bet she was really smart and full of pluck.

  9. I thought the chair decor was her hair, and she was holding it out, playing with a strand! She looks like someone I might have wanted to know.

  10. Many times these old photos don't have names on the back. I love it when they do because then I feel like I 'know' them. She was a lovely young woman full of dreams and wishes. I hope her life was everything she'd imagined. Twyla

  11. To me she looks so young..but back then they were young when they did things, like teach school. But I also see a toughness in that look. How sad that she ended up in an antique shop..how nice that you now have her.
