This vintage poem, Christmas Miracle, found in a 1964 Ideals book, beautifully describes the wonders of each valley, hill and morn blessed by a new fallen snow. A forest filled with wonder as Christmas approaches is a call to all of us by poet Georgia B. Adams to take joy in the smallest of winter miracles..."birdbaths wearing fur collars...trees trimmed in ermine."
Miracles are everywhere...take another look, Adams writes! It is a simple thing to find the miracles that abound in nature...in snow covered roads and "hillsides wearing winter capes."
Soon enough our world here in Michigan will be white with snow and I look forward to the enchantment of a glistening world of white outside my cottage window!

Dear Coralie,
ReplyDeleteI like your new header and that sweet poem.
I wonder of the hillside evergreens will wear white winter- capes in Germany.
It was the warmest November for 120 years.
And there is no sign of any snow.
I hope this will change till Christmas.
Have a good week
Janine
I love your header! I am not anxious for snow myself, but seeing it this way is just fine. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Coralie

ReplyDeleteSome of the older ways may not have been the easiest, but they are better than some being used today. Enjoyed this very much.
ReplyDeleteCoralie,
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love your new Christmas look here. I remember those books..... my mother had some, I wonder if she still does? I am looking forward to a winter wonderland right now too, but not for too long.
Have a blessed day!

Good Morning, Coralie! I love your Christmas look on the blog today. That is a pretty poem, too. I can't wait to see winter scenes of Michigan. We're actually chilly here in Florida this morning, and I don't have the clothes for it. ;-)

What a lovely idea "Blue Monday" and you picked a great piece to show off. I love Ideals mag and have quite a few I look through once in a "blue" moon LOL! I guess you didn't see my giveaway, or maybe you don't want my "junque"!! Thanks for sharing. Judi
ReplyDeleteHi Coralie, Your new Christmas header is adorable as well as your post here. The poem reminds me of my home state, Wisconsin. In the Kettle Moraine, where the glaciers formed some of the most beautiful hills and little valleys in the country. When it snows there, it's a winter wonderland. Thanks for the reminder of my 'home sweet home'. And thanks for the reminder of the little miracles in nature.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
