  2. The beautiful tea cup was a gift from my son Paul and daughter-in-law Paula, purchased on a trip to London. It was a gift for me for my first college graduation. Paul drove 500 miles to get to my graduation and came with this lovely gift. You can imagine how I treasure the memory!

  5. Thanks Laurie, I love the Scottie dog print too. There is a charming (funny) story attached to it. Jim and I were visiting in Northern Michigan where we found this little antique shop. There I saw the print and said to the owner, "Oh that's so cute!" The price was $10, not out of line for sure but I wasn't going to buy it, just looking, you know.

The owner, as we were leaving, said to me, "Oh you can have that scottie print for $5." I was kind of stunned and didn't want to hurt her feelings so said, "Okay, I'll take it." She started cleaning off the glass and started asking where we were from. I told her we were visiting my brother & it turned out she knew him and his family. We talked some more and she also knew several other members of my extended family.

Finally, she said, "Here, I want you to have this!" I tried to pay her but she wouldn't take any money at all. She just insisted I had a great family and that she enjoyed visiting with us. As I said, charming (& funny) true story!
