Campbell Kids were first used as part of an advertisement for the Campbell Soup Company in 1906. The kids were created by Grace Drayton, a popular illustrator of the day. The kids were used in magazine and newspaper ads until about 1951. They were presented again in 1966; and in 1983, they were redesigned with a slimmer, more contemporary appearance (Kovels.com).

Grew up with those Campbell's Kids! Gotta love 'em! :) And I still want chicken and stars soup when I'm sick.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom loved the Cambell's kids. She had all sorts of fun things with them on it. Whenever I see them, they make me think of her and smile. This is an appropriate choice for Ruby Tuesday as my favorite campbell's soup is tomato.

I didn't know Campbell company is that old already. I always buy Campbell's product. Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteRT~What a deal
I have a few of those "Campbells" ads memorabilia. I'm not sure if mine are "vintage," but they certainly look like it! I even had a collection of soup bowls with handles...but now, in searching my cabinets, I see only one left!
ReplyDeleteWhen I moved, I gave away a lot of stuff!
That is so neat!

Lovely ad. During my grammer school years, I grew up eating Campbell's soup for lunch at least three times a week. My Dad had to feed us lunch and that was the simple thing for him to make. Pea soup was my favorite, with tomato, vegetable and chicken and stars running a close 2nd. Yummy!

I love vintage Campbell's Soup ads. I have some vintage tins in my kitchen and keep meaning to get some Campbell's Soup ones. You just gave me an idea ...! ♥
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add: Campbell's tomato soup is the only one I will have with a grilled cheese sandwich (and I splurge and get the original which is jam-packed with enough sodium to take care of my family of four's quotient for a week!). You just gave me another idea ...! ♥
ReplyDeleteLove the ad!
ReplyDeleteGreat, I love Campbell's soup !
