ReplyDeleteI have just started learning about vintage feedsack/floursack prints after finding a collection of quilt blocks made from them in my grandma's closet after she died. I can't imagine getting such pretty fabrics just from buying a sack of sugar or chicken feed! I am hoping to put together a collection of them big enough to finish the quilt she started.
ReplyDeleteI love your shop, it's fun to see the amazing varieties of prints so beautifully preserved. I love the blues and reds. Anyway, thanks for sharing !

Hello Coralie, congratulations on the opening of your new shop.......Love to be in the draw...and the yellow mix would go well with a project I am working on....Warm Regards Lyn
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through "Letters form the Homefront". It's gorgeous! Great Etsy shop. My favorite would be the BEST VINTAGE FEEDSACK Squares 25-5x5-Gone With The Wind MIXED LOT-NOVELTIES. The variety is fantastic. The Yellow lot is a clost second.
ReplyDeleteThat collection of yellows is the ultimate group -- so bright and cheerful!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Etsy shop is going to be so fun for those of us who love vintage and crave feedsacks! Thank you for opening it up.
I have been a follower of your blog for months, coming from Martha's Q is for Quilter blog originally. Your collections are beautiful and the photo-inspirations are dangerous for me. I have been known to drop all things and drive to a vintage-era shop to make purchases after seeing some of your photos. Yes, it's true! The little-scenic arrangements you make are just lovely. (And that bookcase of collected feedsacks is incredible!)

ReplyDeleteI certainly have enjoyed your blog and will mention it on my new blog tomorrow. Today I am announcing a give away that you might like to check out when I post later this evening. In any case I enjoyed your blog.
I really love colors and the uniqueness of patterns and use of colors. I have sewn since I was 5 - I am now 56. My Mom taught us about God and sewing! I had a hard time picking which collection was my favorite...I chose: GONE WITH THE WIND LADIES, and other AWESOME NOVELTIES including HEARTS, WINDMILLS, Impalas & more for the uniqueness....however, they are all very nice...
ReplyDeleteP.S. I wrote the above comment July 9, 2009 at 5:21 AM. How will the winner of your contest be published? My email is gregandjeannedreyer@verizon.net.
