This Coronation Quilt pattern was published in the 1930's by the Detroit Times. The accompanying text read:"The customs of medieval days show that diamond shaped patches were used as a decorative trimming. The Coronation quilt design goes back to the days of Sir Walter Raleigh and the gallant knights of old.
The blocks are set together on the bias, using 6 wide and 7 long, with a plain block of the same size for joining them."
